The times when the walls of the oven were torn with sand or abrasive paste have passed, and we hope, irrevocably. But even when there were no effective ways to remove the weld fat from the walls and door, the housewives used various substances that could soften the pollutant and thereby facilitate the work.

In fact, they carried out hydrolysis cleaning - they poured water into a baking sheet with some home remedy, heated the oven, and then manually removed the dirt. An oven where there would be no cleaning system can only be found with the great-grandmother in the closet.

Now there are several ways to deal with burnt fat and other pollutants:

• pyrolysis;
• hydrolysis;
• catalysis.

This cleaning system is equipped with the most expensive ovens. The pyrolytic method has many advantages:

• the oven is cleaned without your participation;
• no detergents needed;
• all pollutants are removed equally well, including sweet and dairy;
• mechanical impact is excluded - under the influence of high temperature, fat breaks down in all parts;
• such a system lasts a very long time;
• all elements serve as much as the whole oven.

Disadvantages of Pyrolysis

This is not to say that pyrolytic purification is perfection itself. She certainly has minuses:

• pyrolysis is used only in electric ovens, for gas ovens such a method has not yet been invented;
• you must start the system manually;
• consumes a lot of electricity - from 4 to 7 kW;
• sometimes baking sheets have to be washed separately;
• need a quality hood;
• kitchen furniture should be made of heat resistant materials;
• Such an oven is quite expensive.

Important! Since pyrolysis requires a high voltage, before buying an oven, make sure that the wiring in the house can withstand an additional serious load.

• As for the baking sheets, in the latest models they are made of heat-resistant materials, so it was not necessary to take them out and wash them in the dishwasher.
• Take care of clean air.Fats break down very intensely, and accordingly - a not too pleasant aroma fills the kitchen, and it is better to get rid of it right away. Therefore, a good hood is needed.
• Pay particular attention to the furniture next to the stove. The temperature during pyrolysis rises to 500 °, and this cannot but affect the microclimate in the room, even if the unit has high-quality thermal insulation. Furniture should be made of material that is not afraid of heat.
• Ovens with pyrolytic cleaning are equipped with automatic protection, and if the temperature near the unit rises above the permissible level, the cabinet is cut off. But this does not contribute to cleaning.
• Pyrolytic cleaning requires caution, despite the fact that a high-quality oven is equipped with an additional cooling system, and the door has laminated heat-resistant glass. Anyway, the risk of getting burned is great. The handles are also very hot.

Important! Can the door open during the procedure? Only if the temperature is below 300 ° C. With such heating, the door locks, it is impossible to open it, even if you want it. The lock is released when the oven cools down to 200 ° C.

The enamel contains substances that accelerate the chemical reaction - catalysts:

What is catalytic cleaning good?

Catalytic panels are installed in both electric and gas ovens. Such an oven is much cheaper than its counterpart with pyrolytic cleaning. Besides:

• cleaning occurs directly during cooking, which significantly saves the time of the hostess;
• ashes can be removed using a normal wet towel or sponge;
• catalytic panels last long enough;
• panels can be purchased separately, and on some models - put on their own;
• on sale you can find panels with double-sided coating, then their service life is doubled;
• since cleaning occurs during cooking, there is no additional energy consumption;
• the system does no harm to the kitchen furniture.

In a word, it is a convenient and relatively cheap system.

What are the disadvantages of catalysis?

1. Not all the inside of the oven is coated with a catalytic composition, so the floor and door, as well as removable parts, will still have to be washed by hand.
2. The catalytic cleaning system does not cope very well with severe pollution - they disappear only after two or even three times cleaning.

Important! Single-sided catalytic panels are changed on average once every 4-5 years.
